Deacon Bill's Place

Greetings!

My name is Deacon Bill O'Donnell. I have been married to my wife Judy for nearly 34 years. We  relocated to Kearney(Karn-ee), NE in the summer of 2008 from Omaha, NE, and while we miss all of our friends and family, we are happy to call Kearney home.

We have two daughter's, one son-in-law and 4 grandchildren.

Judy is a daycare professional and is currently director and Pre-K teacher at First Lutheran Church here in Kearney. I am a histologist at Good Sam Hospital in Kearney.

Judy and I were high school sweethearts. we both attended Paul VI Catholic High in Omaha, NE. We were married at Holy Cross Church in Omaha, and for the next six years I served in the US Navy, returning to Omaha in 1984.

I worked at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE and Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA for a combined total of about 25 years.

In November of 2001, I was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate at St. Cecilia Cathedral by Archbishop Eldon Francis Curtiss and was assigned to that same Cathedral were I served in many functions, primarily in adult education ministry. I also spent nearly 5 years in prison ministry.

In our new home, I am assigned by the Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Island, Bishop William Dendiger to Immaculate Conception in Elm Creek, Holy Rosary in Overton and St. John Capitran in Amherst, all in Nebraska.

I am also assigned to assist with the  Diaconate formation program for the diocese. (Click Here to go to the Grand Island Diaconate web site)

Judy's interests are road biking.

My hobbies include astronomy, beer and wine making as well as cooking.
